Reaction to Home Office Ergonomics: A Dozen things you should know about eyestrain
Among the topics in the website, the one that really caught my attention was th one regarding eyestrain, since for me the eyes are one of the most important factors when it comes to the IT field. Most people, especially those in my age group particularly enjoy staring in front of a computer whether it be for the simple joy of killing someone or something on an online or real time game, or just for sheer pleasure of surfing the Internet, whatever the reson may be,a lot of people enjoy having computers. For gamers, eyestrain is not very unlikely, as they usually spend a lot of time in front of the computer without a worry or care on proper ergonomics, they usually sit too close to the monitor, with just that they have a high possibilty for eyestrains or by definition are discomforts in the eyes when in the presence of a monitor, or prolonged exposure to it. Almost everybody experiences eyestrain, I believe that this is common to anyone who spends a large amount of time in ont of a computer.
It is a wonder on how much ergonomics can do for a person, just the mere knowledge of it and a habitual practice of it could save one's eyes from strain, by simply adjusting the position or the height of the computer, one can be prevented from eyestrain, based from personal experince, I think that one effective way of preventing eye strain is to have a glass type screen in front of the monitor that would lessen the brightness, also as with regards to what the text said about looking from one object to another, I myself use a sort of device attached on top of the monitor where it has a clip to put some of my documents that I needed to type, it reduces the need to lookup and down, it also reduces the strain on the neck. Ergonomics is truly useful not only to the computer parts but also to a person's health, hail to the one who started ergonomics.
