Back to School (Sort of)
Posted by coordinator2 at 10:52 PM on September 8, 2005 in On Family Life.
My daughters are back at school this week. My wife started school today also. The routines of Fall are starting to kick in. I am enjoying a couple of weeks away from work. I have a lot to do!!! But, mostly just enjoy taking my daughters to school and being at home. I'll try to get to some of the projects on my to do list or maybe not. The news out of Louisiana are
disheartning. So much devastation and pesonal grief. I hope that we learn to respond to national tragedies like this and pull together. It makes me realize how
fragile our existense can be. For now I look foward to a couple more days in the sun.

I took this past week off from work so that I could spend some time with my grandfather. I only got to spend part of last week and Monday and Tuesday this week. He passed on to a better life this Wednesday morning. We got to spend his last day together. I am just beginning to grieve this loss in my life. I am thankful for the moments we spent together. I am his first grandson and I was there at the end. I feel that he was ready to go. I am hopefull that I can learn from his strength and great resolve to keep fighting. He suffered a lot these last few days, but he never complained of pain. He has left me with a legacy that was his way of being. I learned more about him as I held his hands, fed him, and looked into his eyes than all those birthday's, new years, visits, and times together throughout the years. Good bye abuelito Tomas.

Think of all the blessing that you have received this year and the love that God has for you. What are you thankful for this year?
My Pocket PC

I started with a palm. I really didn't like it. It wasn't more than an organizer. I started using my pocket pc about six months ago. It won't replace a desktop or laptop. But it does come pretty close. I am already able to view, modify and create Word and Excel documents. I am able to view and respond to email. Now I am able to view pdf!!! I even downloaded a trial version of slideshow viewer. It will convert Powerpoint files to view on my pocket pc. My pocket pc works great when I sync it with Outlook 2002. I can organize my tasks, appoinments, contacts as well as my email all in one program. When I went to training last week, I kept notes on my pocket pc to organize my blog entries. The battery lasted for both days. I even have a wireless card to browse the internet on non-secured wireless networks. IT FITS IN MY POCKET!!! But, what I am really dreaming about is getting a tablet pc!!! What do use to keep you organized in your multi-tasking world?
