what's new? im having this sort of emotional breakdown right now, since i'll be leaving Shanghai in less than 2 weeks! booo! i hate starting all over! cos i know for a fact that the place, people, etc. i left a year ago is not the same anymore! :) well yes.. i've always been like this... going out and about. before it was xiamen, now its shanghai...

anyway, i still have faith in God and i know good/better things are awaiting for me! :)

not much but that's very hard-earned cash right there! i was sick working my sick ass off for this!!

This might sound crazy but sometimes I wish I'm still a working student.

It was hard. Shifting your focus from one thing to another. You barely get any sleep. And I know I barely did any studying, so I imagine it's more gruesome to the working students who are actually scholars. My attitude towards grades has always been "I pass, cool. It's a high grade, wicked. I failed, fuck."

But despite all that, you subtly notice a change in your psyche. You're more direct. You don't diddle around and waste any time. Every small break you give yourself is more precious because well, time's tight and you can't deny that you truly deserve it.

I remember this one time it was already 1 PM and common sense dictated I should be in bed yet I was still in the middle of a DOTA game. I recall thinking I better save it then continue some other time else there'd be hell to pay in waking up later but I just couldn't. Playing DOTA suddenly became more fun and intense because of the simple fact that I shouldn't be playing at that moment.

And the people around really get behind you once they learn of your status. They couldn't be nice enough, concerned enough. Hell, I had 2 co-workers fighting for a spot to be given to me on those rare occasions we had VGH. At home my smallest inanest requests were treated with utmost importance.

It's the closest thing I could ever think of to being a king.

Back then, I could innocently say I'm a working student with a real job, not just a part time fast food gig, though I did went through that for 3 years. And for some reason unknown to me, the effect is tripled when they hear it's a graveyard shift. I honestly don't get the point. Sure, I stay up all night working, but I make it up by sleeping during the day. Same difference. But to others, I was suddenly elevated to Man-God status. Weird, I know.

On a personal note, it's so much better to know that not only you're working and studying at the same time, you're saddled with extra responsibilities like I dunno, watching over a troop of wild boys or engaging in an RPG game with blokes scattered across the globe. In a sense, the illusion that you're extremely busy is more preferable to what I am today: just a regular guy with a regular job who goes home after work and crash. Think about it for a minute, see the huge difference?

Ciaossu!~~~ I'm officially addicted to Katekyo Hitman Reborn! since this Saturday. I secretly read the manga online during work (using proxy sites =D). Now I have a reason to come to work LOL. My monitor at home's busted, and i still need to wait until payday so that I can buy a replacement. I just finished chapter 3 of the manga. Astig ni Gokutera Hayato! Triple Bomb~~~ XD
