if you haven't heard, i lost a lot of entries for pure-essence.net due to a bad host. pretty much everything from Jan 2006 - to present has been lost. but yesterday i got an email from a kind visitor named Alberto L. who said he's got my entries saved in his feed reader. then he sent me what's in there. so i got my entries from dec 2006 to may 2007. that's just AWESOME!! thank you!!

i got here early to turn in my resignation letter this morning. i'm getting a new job offer and gives me a 60% raise from what i currently make. i didn't think twice about it. but it does involve having my family move to a city that's two hours of drive away from where i currently live. i thought everything is going to move as planned until i tried to turn in my resignation letter this morning and my boss wants to make a counter offer. he doesn't know how much he can counter offer coz he needs to talk to his superiors. but i seriously did not think this was gonna happen. now that just complicates everything and i have to consider a different possibility. i know i should be happy but i'm really freaked out right now.

I took three assessments from brainbench on HTML, javascript and java last night for a recruiter. I'm surprised that they actually let you know the results. But I got these in my email this morning.

This makes me happy :)

i took this from someone's blog. just so shocked.

------------
We drove to Oceanside after and saw the MOST INSANE accident I have ever seen in my life. On the other side of the freeway, a big-rig truck had smashed into an SUV and a few other cars were involved, too. Cars were on fire … twisted like pretzels … airbags and bodies everywhere. It had just happened because the cops weren’t even there yet. I read about it later and found out some little kids died. Sad.

The traffic stopped to a crawl and we crept along in the slow lane. Some idiot in a white truck with beer stickers all over it decided it would be a bright idea to drive about 75mph on the shoulder of the freeway, so that he could pass all the stop-and-go traffic. That’s when it happened … the truck smacked into a pedestrian in a hot pink shirt. The victim went flying up and smashed onto the ground RIGHT NEXT TO MY CAR and cracked open like a melon. Lots of people pulled over (witnesses) so I didn’t bother. But oh wow ... I’ve seen dead bodies before but never anything as grotesque as this. There were brains and innards scattered EVERYWHERE ... the guy looked like he had exploded. The white truck was bathed in blood … bathed. Poor Mark almost threw up but I found it ... oddly fascinating. This may sound morbid or strange but I get more upset when I see cats hurt than people ... lol. We even saw an eyeball lying there on the pavement. AN EYEBALL.

you make me feel like a little girl
secretly writing a love letter to my first crush
it's the emotion i thought i had left behind
coming alive
hunting me
somehow i wish you to know
but i pray it will go away
before it brings me despair
the love not meant to be
is the love so hard to divest
maybe in the final stroke of midnight
this is nothing more than an illusion

here i will list and link all the freeware i use and love

Fwink - a great webcam freeware

CDBurnerXP Pro - the best free cd/dvd burning software out there IMO
Clipomatic - remembers the last # of text you've copied (once started using, i can't live without it)

faststone screen capture - allows you to easy select parts of your screen to save or print (also check out other fast stone freeware. i don't personally use them but i believe in fast stone)

Asterisk Logger - recovers the saved passwords in **** in any software

Net Transport - my favorite download accelerator

AVG free anti-virus - everyone probably knows this

CDex - free audio cd ripper

PrimoPDF - a free pdf converter. once installed, open a word doc and go to print -> choose primoPDF and you will be able generate a pdf

foobar2000 - GREAT alternative to windows media player for a music player and it doesn't use a lot of memeory. it may also act like a media format converter. it has lots of add-ons and you probably right away install components UI (wiki).

CCleaner - Cleans all the crap out of your computer. Cleans temporary files of softwares, computer, fixes registry. Simple and fast, updated frequently.

VirtualDub - Edits videos (mosly avi) fast and simple. I usually use it to crop or join videos. It does so much more.

uTorrent - Simply the best bittorrent client out there. TONS of features, but uses TINY resource. Stand-alone version also available. Also has WebUI which lets you control utorrent from other computers.

VideoLAN - Best media player out there. It plays almost EVERYTHING without you having to go around downloading codecs or converting your dvds/whatsoever. It's free and open source.

Filezilla - A great FTP client. Does everything and is easy to use.

Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP - I like the open command here powerToy. Also see other powerToys recommendation.
