PAUER, the name speaks for itself. Passion is her middle name, which by the way married toxicity. Stubborn as she is, she sees to it that she achieves what she wants through hardwork and dedication. Moreover, she always prefers to have things organized, very orderly and yes, clean, even if it means starting again from scratch—SCARY OB-C ways, as one of her orgmates puts it. Absolutely a neat freak, she is obsessed with trying to keep everything she possesses spotless. Touch her stockings with the tip of your footwear and your dead! Mediiocrity is never part of her vocabulary. She’d rather have no sleep for several days than to come uup with something below her standards—standards which she also applies to relationships. As someone who’s driven by the head rather than the heart, she would always be directed by her goals where lovelife is at rock bottom. Nevertheless, even lovelife is the least in her priorities; she still puts a very high bar on it. She has quite spectacular criteria for a partner, so boys, hand in a good resume! She believes that there is plenty more time for lovelife and why would she bother when she has a bunch of wacky, crazy and admiringly strong set of good friends. MAMI PAU, as her barkada calls her, she never forgets to show affection to her dearest friends. Originally part of the ISPAYS GELS (with Twink, Kai, Karen & Mitz) the pack is now part of NURSEXSOC (with Bj, Ed, Jay, Jaycee, Cla and Ted added). They managed to stay intact amidst all the trials which came their way. Literally the mom, Mami Pau would often bring her “kids” something to munch on—from cookies and chocolates to her blockbuster pasta dishes and blueberry cheesecake. She’s very sweet and thoughtful and would vow to risk her life for you just don’t bump into her during one of those PMS days, because again, you’re dead! She may not be a person of words, but surely those close to her would definitely feel how it is to be loved by a mommy. PAUERPOINT, as Ted would jokingly put it, is a multitalented brat who knows quite a lot about computers and is rumored to have an explicit relationship with the desktop. Known not just for the transcriptions she does, she could easily whip up a slide presentation for any occasion for you. Not only gifted with the sense for “virtual art”, her gifted hand was the brainchild of the winning lantern during the 2003 Lantern Parade. She desired an entry which was fancy, well-detailed and above all very meaningful which is very much of the ob-c in her. PAULA (pronounced as “po-la”) is one of the few brave souls who attempted to join the UP Manila Debate Circle. Blessed with good public speaking skills and armed with wit and humor, she successfully became the first nursing student to be part of the organization. She’s so passionate about debating that she would literally do everything to evade classes or be excused from clinical duties just to attend trainings and tournaments. She’d even prefer reading The Economist than go through her lecture notes or finish her NCP’s. With that kind of passion, just imagine how she survived in Nagcarlan, deprived of everything related to debating and without the slightest chance to utter “point of information!”. PAU is one heck of a person. She may seem to be a snob but when you get to be her friend, you’ll think otherwise. Just a few more things you have to know about her: She’s a Starbucks fanatic (loves to spend her study time there, drinking café Sumatra) and a Cinnzeo addict as well. She obviously loves good food, particularly Japanese and Italian stuff. She’s the person who would rather call than text and would automatically pick up a cab when going home late or when unfamiliar with public transportation. She’s an avid reader of John Grisham and J.K. Rowling books and fancies to become a writer someday, with her blog as the dummy. She’s mesmerized by the setting sun and rising moon. She drinks her iced tea with two straws (something she learned from Mitz) and prefers her sundae plain, without the chocolate fudge. She has a simian crease on her left hand, a living example that someone with Trisomy 21 can live a rather extraordinary life. She dreams to own a huge library, a National Bookstore, stocks from Starbucks and yes, a Siberian Huskie.
