Subject: Do Not Quit
There are just those days when you feel like kicking everything that gets in the way and running off somewhere to mull over your useless life. You can’t help but feel worthless, in spite of the whispers in your hard little head telling you to recover from your loss of reason, and to let go of the insane ideals you live by. You can’t help but bawl in a corner and pray that God’s almighty gleaming ray of sunlight comes and saves you from the most difficult of times, instead of doing your best and striving to get better. You can’t help but want to die in an instant, thinking that the easiest way out would be to end it all, when in reality, the only way out of something is to go through it. These are the times when ‘instant’ is the most overused word. These are the times when ‘quick-fix’ is the only solution. No one dares stop and think whether or not what they are doing is right. Everyone’s just too busy finding the easy way out.
Don’t quit. Never. You will never be truly alive if you do not have any problems. You are not truly alive if you can’t see with your heart. Difficulties may arise now and then, but running away is never a solution. Greet the trials with a smile, knowing that whoever has the brain takes control. Overrule the anxiety with confidence, knowing that you have the power to do so. It is so much better than drinking warm milk and snuggling your “blankie” only to find out the next day that someone would be using that photograph to blackmail you. It is so much better than having to see yourself in the mirror and thinking about how pathetic you are for not overcoming such a small thing. It is so much better than having to deal with an even bigger problem than what you had to begin with. That is the reason why you must face everything with an open mind. It’s so much easier to analyze a situation when your brain is working than using a dried up one to focus on failure.
Every step you take leads you towards what you want to achieve. Remember that there is always a time for everything. There are times when we set things straight, and there are times when we allow ourselves to loosen up and act as if we do not have a care in the world. There is a reason for everything. It was God’s plan to challenge us, and it is our obligation to comply with His decisions. God makes us face difficulties that He knows we can solve. He is the only reason we are alive. He gave us these trials to make us stronger. He gave us our mistakes for us to understand. He gave us our burdens for us to find comfort’s formula. He never gave us a reason to take the easier way out. When Jesus was caught in a struggle He didn’t abandon us. He faced his fate with an open heart, and an open mind. He died for us. That was an even bigger problem than what we have now. Imagine having to die for people you do not know.
Amidst the world of difficulties, there is always a sliver of hope. All we have to do is rip it open and make it wider so we can step in. Never give up on what you have passion for. It is okay to wail and scream whenever you think you can’t continue with what you are doing. It is okay to feel pain and stress when no one listens. Just keep these things in mind: You will accomplish everything you wish as long as you work hard, and you stay focused. Whenever you feel like giving up, pray. Whenever you feel like you can’t go on, pray. Find refuge in God. He will be there to clear the voices in your head. He will be there to cry with you whenever you feel helpless. He will be there to switch ‘instant’ off. He will be there with you, side-by-side, whispering in your ear the long and lasting word ‘enduring’.
Guess what I spanked up! ;)
