The shadows on the wall laugh at me
As they stretch out their limbs
and request me to join their dance
The music is alluring
And their invitation so tempting

I give in … I give up
… Dance Away …

My lips begin to sync with the lyrics
The movement is electrifying
It leaves me numb
Everything becomes nothing
And nothing starts to make sense

… with open eyes …
I can’t see … the sweet images the blind can …

I feel them caressing my lips - as it still silently sings -
with their bitter fingertips
I become sick at the taste
My feet begin to misstep with the beat
I lose the rhythm and fall

… with open ears …
I’ll never hear … the sweet melody the deaf can …

As I collapse to the ground
The music starts to fade
And for some reason
I can’t seem to hit the floor
I lull my head back … there is no stopping to this bottomless pit

I understand … even though I don’t want to
… Go Away …

The shadows all above me laugh

To tease me
I can’t hear the music anymore
But I still softly hum

I fall endlessly … I close me eyes

I give up … I give in
… Far Away …
