? POSTED AT 01:05 AM ![]() After hearing the song on one of my playlists, I suddenly realised that I've forgotten more than half of the actions - no, not actions; dance moves - to "Every Move I Make." The ones we used to do in church. Ming, do you remember them? Anyone? :( (Don't like to call them "actions" because that brings to mind the Sunday School-type actions. Kiddy stuff. "Dance moves" connotes something cooler. Hahaha... Really mah. What we used to do for that song was more like dance than just "actions"... Probably why I actually liked "doing the actions" for that song as opposed to others like "This is How We Overcome" and whatnot.) Bleh. Now I'm feeling annoyed that I can't remember it. Then again, it's been 4 years or more since I last saw the moves... I'm still annoyed. Hahah. |

Happy (Belated) Birthday! POSTED AT 01:06 AM Okay, I meant to have this up yesterday, but what with work until nearly 7, and then a little bit of struggle with the rendering and timing of this video, I couldn't get it done on time. I just had to test out some old film effect on it. La di da... Anyway, enjoy! ;) It's a vid from a couple of years back that I edited somewhat. Fran and Tim, you may remember this too - it was when we went to see Day After Tomorrow. Heheh [ click here to see, or right-click and "Save As" to download. I suggest the download. ] (BTW, Quicktime player required.) Listening to: OST Superman Returns |

It Endeth. POSTED AT 01:15 AM No more World Cup until 2010. Sigh. Every morning now while driving to work, I still half-expect the newsreader to announce the results of the night’s matches. I feel like something’s missing when The Sun’s noon World Cup update doesn’t turn up outside Astro’s cafeteria at lunch. I still imagine ESPN’s Soccernet to be plastered all over with World Cup stuff. And I still expect to hear news of the footballers, coaches and teams over the radio at the hourly news update. (Wait a minute. I still do get that.) It really feels a bit strange. Thirty days of global footballitis have come to a screeching, dead halt. But it was fun while it lasted. Granted, more than half the fun vanished for me when all my favourite teams got knocked out - two by France, and one by Germany. Thus, Italy was the obvious choice for my support in the final match, having put Germany out of the running and then being France’s final opponent. Hahah! My personal highlights of this year’s tournament were Argentina vs Serbia Montenegro (an Argentine win of such skill and some very delightful passing and teamwork), Spain vs Ukraine (go Spain!), Argentina vs Germany (although I was teary-eyed at the end and couldn’t bring myself to watch the whole shootout), and Italy vs France. The Albicelestes went home too early in the tournament - yes, I consider the quarterfinals too early for them - but most think that they’ll be back en force in 2010, what with all the young geniuses they have, like Tevez and Messi. If I’m lucky, Aimar will still be playing too. :P Although I think Jose Pekerman did a good job with Argentina - they weren’t the black sheep people make them out to be; I saw distinctly less diving and play-acting from the Argentines than from certain other teams - I kinda think it was partially Pekerman’s fault they lost. He couldn’t have helped Abbondanzieri’s injury, but what possessed him to put on Cambiasso and the other guy (forgot his name) for Riquelme and Crespo? If you must sub out Riquelme, put on Aimar! I daresay he’s a more attacking player than Cambiasso. There were still Saviola and Messi on the bench too! *shakes head* Spain’s Red Fury underachieved again in a way, their young talent failing to get past the experience of Les Bleus in the Round of 16. Joanne mourned the loss of her “Spanish hunks” and I was inclined to agree. We think that the Spanish had the overall best-looking team. Nyek. (You think the Italians are good-looking? Look at the Spaniards! LOL.) I like Brazil, but they were one of the underachievers this time round. Worse than Spain. The expectations of Spain weren’t half as high as for Brazil, who sported a team of glittering names, including World Player of the Year, Ronaldinho. Somehow, the Brazil that played weren’t the Samba Kings that football fans the world over knew. Who’s to blame, no one can really say. Perhaps coach Parreira, perhaps the players themselves. Germany. I don’t mind them, but after they beat Argentina… In that way… Let’s just say I didn’t take kindly to the Klose-inflicted injury of keeper Abbondanzieri. It wasn’t on purpose, yeah, but it was still the turning point in the tournament. Normally, you don’t expect to substitute your goalkeeper, so there was one sub wasted already. (I felt for the second-string keeper, Franco, though. It must’ve been an awful position for him.) Yellow and red abounded in this tournament. There were twice the amount of cards awarded as compared to the last competition. But there are only two red cards that everyone talks about - Wayne Rooney’s against Portugal and Zidane’s against Italy. Talk about losing your mind… Both of them must have. Rooney really shouldn’t have reacted and shoved Cristiano Ronaldo. I think it might have been only a yellow had he not done that. As for Zidane… What was the man thinking?? Que pensiez-vous, Zidane? To do that in your last international game… In a World Cup final… Oy. So Materazzi insulted you. After playing for so many years, shouldn’t you know not to react? Anyway, Italy won so I’m satisfied. (Would’ve been happier if Argentina won, though.) =P Listening to: "I've Got the Joy" |

Splat. POSTED AT 02:20 AM It's very, very, very basic. It's rough. It's not even 1 second long. (Seven frames, to be exact.) But I'm quite happy. After all, it's my first real hand-drawn animation! It's miserably basic, considering that I major in Film & Animation, but hey, it's a start. :) See! (Quicktime required. Or RealPlayer.) I looped it once because the original sequence constituted what - half a second? Can't see anything like that. Hahah... I did think to make the ball slide down the wall to the floor, but I figured I should go sleep already. *sigh* At least now I'm fairly satisfied. Because I achieved something today =) Watching: my ball animation |

Abstract POSTED AT 01:57 AM ![]() Feeling a bit moody at the moment for some reason. :| And this has nothing to do with the World Cup, sad though I am about Argentina. So you can stop the wisecracks, Professor III. I'll blog about the weekend another time. It was a pretty good one, but tiring. (Yea, I count it good even though I was a bit unwell on Sunday.) 15 minutes, Corel Painter 9 (oil brush on artist canvas) |
